Terms of Use

1. Who these terms cover

Trudex is operated by Adamson Group LLC (“Trudex”, “we”). These terms apply to anyone who uses the Trudex website or calls the Trudex MCP server at trudex.dev, with or without a token. When software (an AI agent, a script, an app) calls Trudex, “you” means the person or organization that runs that software, and you are responsible for how it uses Trudex. By using Trudex you accept these terms.

2. What Trudex is

Trudex answers questions about Texas businesses: which legal entity a business name refers to, its registration status, locations, alcohol licenses, history, and likely related entities. It is built from public datasets published by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) on data.texas.gov, refreshed nightly. Trudex is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for either agency.

3. Not a consumer report

Trudex is about businesses, not people, and it is not a consumer reporting agency. You may not use Trudex, or anything derived from it, as a factor in deciding a person’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar laws. Business records sometimes name individual owners (for example, a sole proprietor on a license). Those names appear only as part of a business record. You may not use Trudex to search for, locate, profile, or monitor individuals.

4. Inferred links and accuracy

Some of what Trudex returns is inferred, not stated by the source: that a license belongs to a taxpayer, that two entities are likely under common control, that a business name refers to an entity. Every inferred answer carries a confidence and the evidence behind it, and anything below our reporting threshold is not shown. An inference is not a legal ownership record. Source data can be incomplete, late or wrong, and so can our processing of it. Check anything that matters against the original records before relying on it. Each answer names its sources and how current they are.

5. Attribution

When you show Trudex results to others, keep the source attribution that comes with them (the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and/or TABC, via data.texas.gov). Do not present Trudex results as official records of either agency.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Access, tokens and limits

Some tools can be used without a token, within limits per network address. A free account gives you personal access tokens with higher limits. Tokens are secrets. Keep them private, and revoke any token you think has leaked. Usage limits apply per account, per token, or per network address. Calls over a limit are refused with a message that says when you can try again and how to get more. We may change limits, or suspend access that breaks these terms or threatens the service.

8. What we record

For each call we record:

When a lookup finds nothing, we also record the text of that lookup so we can find gaps in our coverage. We keep call records for 90 days. If you create an account, our sign-in provider (Clerk) holds your email address. We do not sell any of this, and we use it only to run, secure, and improve Trudex. The website uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies. The Privacy Policy has the details.

9. Paid features

Paid tools, when offered, will have their own pricing and terms, shown before you pay. The free tools stay free.

10. No warranty; limitation of liability

Trudex is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. To the extent the law allows, Trudex is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of Trudex. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the three months before the claim or US$50.

11. Changes and ending use

We may change these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use Trudex after a change means you accept it. You may stop using Trudex at any time. We may suspend or end access that breaks these terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
